Holy Crazy Morning Batman!

I knew this morning was going to be busy, but I didn't know it would be our busiest morning yet. Our cat, Clover, started limping over the weekend, so we had an appointment with the vet at 9:30 this morning. It's now 11:30, and I'm exhausted. Let me take you through my morning...

7:45 - Gabe eats, fresh diaper, etc
8:20 - Pump
8:35 - Attempt to store pumped milk for freezing and clean pump. Gabe starts fussing halfway through, but hangs out with me in the sling while I finish cleaning up.
8:50 - After Gabe has a huge spit-up, I realize he desperately needs a bath, especially since he was supposed to have one last night, but fell asleep.
8:53 - Bath
9:05 - Crap! Is it really 9:05 already?! Get Gabe diapered & dressed.
9:10 - Gabe hangs out in the swing while I desperately throw on the first set of clothes I see in my closet. I look like a hot mess, but oh well, no time for anything else.
9:15 - Purse? Check. Diaper bag? Check. Carseat? Check. Baby? Check. Cat carrier? Check. Cat? Che... Crap. Where on God's green Earth did the cat go? Search frantically for cat. Not in the closet. Not under the bed. Not closed in the baby's room. Aha! Hiding in the storage thingy under the futon.
9:23 - Struggle to get cat out from under futon and into cat carrier. Cat? Check. Gabe is now crying in his carseat. Awesome.
9:27 - After what can only be described as a circus act, get Gabe, Clover & various items into the car. Thank goodness the vet is only around the corner.
9:28 - It's a symphony in my car! When the car is stopped, Gabe cries. When the car moves, he stops crying but then the cat starts crying. It's almost comedic.
9:29 - Oh, you've got to be kidding me. Stupid red light at the corner won't turn green - the rotation is messed up because of the construction they are doing at the intersection. I cuss like a sailor while the kid screams and Clover meows pitifully. I'm about to join them in the crying when the light FINALLY turns green.
9:31 - Pull into vet clinic. I pat myself on the back for being *nearly* on time. Gabe falls asleep, and I rejoice that maybe he will sleep through the vet appointment.
9:35(ish) - Sleep FAIL. Gabe wakes up and fusses on and off through the rest of the appointment. I try my best to rock/pat/jiggle him while attempting to listen to the vet. I feel like a bad pet mom when the doctor asks detailed questions about when exactly she limps and what she has been doing prior to limping. I don't know. I have a 4 week old. The cat is lucky she gets fed some mornings.
10:20 - 2 X-rays, a shot of anti-inflammatory medication and $235 later, we're done at the vet. They don't know why she is limping, probably a sprain or a strain. Hopefully the shot will help.
10:25 - In the car. No, Gabe! Don't fall asleep now! You're supposed to eat in 20 minutes! FAIL. He's passed out.
10:30 - Home. More circus acts to get in the house. I realize I never ate breakfast, and attempt to grab a bite before I need to feed Gabe at 10:45.
10:35 - Gabe is awake and hungry. I guess a glass of milk will do for breakfast.

Luckily, after that everything slowed down. Gabe ate, burped and got a fresh diaper, and is now happily swaddled and sleeping in his crib. I think I need a nap. Or a drink. Hell, I take both.

OMG! I dread ever taking Sampson to the vet with CJ! I will not do it by myself. It is already a disaster with just him. I could just picture it now... :\

I totally understand you on the comedy of errors that is taking a baby and an animal to the vet. poor Annie has NO room in the backseat anymore thanks to the car seat AND she weighs 90lbs!! That was an experience I don't want to have again.
