As a general rule, Gabe likes baths. Or at least we think he does because he doesn't scream his head off like he did when we were doing sponge baths. His favorite part is definitely having the water rinsed over his body.
Anyway, tonight he was in a particularly good mood, so we decided to give him some "playtime" in the water after we were done eith the bath portion. We took him out of the newborn hammock part that he normally sits in and sat him directly in the baby bathtub, then filled it to the top with water so he was about chest deep in water. We quickly discovered however that when he is chest deep in water, his bum likes to float up off the seat, making it a bit difficult to keep him upright. On a whim, Armando suggested we let him float. So I supported his head and kept it out of the water and we let him float on his back. As soon as he started floating he got this HUGE smile on his face and started moving his arms and legs everywhere. I wish we had had the camera.
We're going to a wedding this weekend and there is a pool at the hotel. I can't wait to take him swimming and see what he thinks. And I will definitely take the camera along.

How early can you put them in a pool? I was thinking about putting CJ in a pool when we go to Hawaii.
I dunno, but we're going in the pool this weekend! I can't see how it can hurt him as long as the pool is clean.
That is awesome that Gabe seems to like swimming! I hope he does good for you in the pool too! I took Norah in my Dad's pool this past weekend. She screamed like a banshee. She hated it the entire 5 minutes we were in there. Ha!
Have fun swimmin!
