Eviction Notice Has Been Served!

I saw the doctor today. Armando went with me - after last week, I expected that the doctor was going to push for the induction fairly hard, and I'll admit that the idea has been pretty tempting. I've been waffling back and forth.

Surprisingly, the doctor was pretty cool with things. He said there is no advantage to waiting another week, but at the same time, there is no disadvantage either. He did want to do an NST to be safe (non-stress test for those of you at home, basically they monitor baby's heartbeat for 20 minutes and see how it reacts when he moves or when I have a contraction). Squeaky came through with flying colors - his heart rate increased to stimuli, which is what we wanted to see.

Mando and I talked it over and decided with the doctor that we will give Squeaky another week to make an exit on his own. At that point, we will induce. I have not made any further progress since last week (still 2+ cm & 80% effaced). I'm feeling pretty confident in that decision. It gives me a light at the end of the tunnel, but still goes with my original wishes not to be induced before 41 weeks. Best of all, I feel like I have made the decision without being under duress, either from a pushy doctor or from my own personal discomfort.

So that's where we stand. Oh, and here's a new belly pic for you from today! 40 weeks, can you believe it?!
